According to some new reports, Matt Hardy’s “Broken Universe” gimmick could end up appearing in WWE after all. Several sources within iMPACT! Wrestling are saying that the company has licensed some “Broken Universe” footage from Matt and Jeff’s time in the company to WWE. Although the actual specifics as to why the content is being licensed aren’t known as of this writing, WWE is working on both a “WWE 24” episode and a DVD based on The Hardy Boys.
For what it’s worth, WWE has licensed content from other pro wrestling companies in the past. Most notably, WWE licensed footage from Ring of Honor (ROH) for CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and several others. Also, the footage from iMPACT! Wrestling is the only content that the company still owns after the rights to the “Broken Universe” trademarks were signed over to Matt Hardy in early January.
